Ambassador Bai Tian Meets with Deputy Secretary General

On October 17, H.E. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China met with Dato' Amran bin Mohamed Zin, the newly-appointed Deputy Secretary General of bilateral affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

Ambassador Bai Tian congratulated Dato' Amran on his assumption of the post, and pointed out that China-Malaysia relations have solid foundation, huge potential and bright prospects. Currently, the bilateral relation is standing at a new starting point, with strong cooperation momentum in various fields. The Chinese side appreciates the Pakatan Harapan government led by Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir paying high attention on China-Malaysia relations, and is willing to share its experiences with Malaysian friends, making contributions to the social and economic development of Malaysia. Ambassador Bai Tian also expressed his expectation of pushing the China-Malaysia relations to new heights together with Dato' Amran.

Dato' Amran pointed out that the current and previous Malaysian governments have all been keen on developing their relations with China. Malaysia-China relations have been constantly leaping forward since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1974. Both sides have maintained close contacts in all levels, cooperated with each other in every aspects, and shared broad common interests. China is a big country with strong international influences. Malaysia and China are comprehensive strategic partners, and the bilateral relation has obtained strategic significance, surpassing ordinary country-to-country relations. The Malaysian side is willing to join hands with the Chinese side to further expand the mutual beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two countries.
