On July 31, the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia held a reception to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. About 600 guests attended the reception, including H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, People's Liberation Army National Defence University President Lt. Gen. Xiao Tianliang, Malaysia’s Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Tan Sri Affendi Buang, Transport Minister the Hon. Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister the Hon. Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing, personnel from the Ministry of Defence Malaysia and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), foreign envoys to Malaysia, and representatives of Chinese companies and Chinese students in Malaysia as well as local communities.
