At the Chinese New Year's Reception on February 2 hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, the song to mark the 50th anniversary of China and Malaysia Establishing Diplomatic Ties "Sayang Sayang My Dear Friend" was released. Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof and H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing along with over one thousand guests watched the live performance.

"Sayang Sayang My Dear Friend", sang in Chinese and Malay, is produced by famous Malaysian singer Ah Niu. The live performance was presented by Ah Niu and more than 80 individuals from China and Malaysia, including the Chinese Embassy's young diplomats, as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations.
