18 June – H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing attended The 38th Asia-Pacific Roundtable (APR) and delivered an address.
Ambassador Ouyang said, Asia is the world’s most dynamic and economically vibrant region. “We want Asia to be a place of peace and tranquillity that pursues the ASEAN vision for 'common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security’ based on extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits; a place of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation that upholds the multilateral trading system while creating new growth points for cooperation; a place of openness and connectivity through the building of a high-level connectivity network and strengthening of industrial supply chain cooperation; a place of inclusiveness and harmony which adheres to the Asian way to guide country-to-country relations and shed differences.”
Besides sharing China’s economic growth prospects, Ambassador Ouyang also stated that China attaches priority importance to developing relations with its neighbouring countries, and will keep injecting certainty and predictability into the global economy with its own steady and stable growth and high level of opening-up.
The Asia-Pacific Roundtable is one of the most important think tank conferences in the region. Also present to address this year’s conference were Malaysia’s Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Mohamad Hasan.
