On May 8, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Ouyang Yujing hosted the Seminar “Building a Community with a Shared Future, Jointly Addressing Emerging External Challenges”, joined by over 20 representatives from Malaysia’s media, think tanks and chambers of commerce.
Ambassador Ouyang said President Xi Jinping’s recent state visit to Malaysia has resulted in the elevation of China-Malaysia relations to new heights, as well as the announcement of building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community of shared future. Both sides signed cooperation documents on political security, economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges, and other areas, also agreed to elevate regional cooperation in new quality productive forces, implement the three major global initiatives, establish a “2+2” dialogue mechanism for foreign affairs and defence, and conduct Confucian-Islamic civilisation dialogues, in addition to signing a mutual visa exemption agreement,all of which will provide strong impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
The participants thanked Ambassador Ouyang for his comprehensive overview and in-depth description, and expressed that they will continue to contribute to the development of Malaysia-China relations and people-to-people friendship across various fields.
The participants also exchanged views on international and regional issues such as the United States’ tariff abuse.
