On April 23, Ambassador Ouyang Yujing met with General Malek Razak Sulaiman, Chief of Defence Force of Malaysia, and transferred China’s donation for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to Malaysia.

Ambassador Ouyang Yujing stated that, as a close neighbor and true friend of Cambodia and Thailand, China is committed to ending hostilities between the two countries through promoting peace talks. Last year, Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China kept communicating with Foreign Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand and Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs performed shuttle diplomacy. China played a constructive role in making the hostile situation turn to the positive direction, whose efforts successfully led to the formation of 'Anning Consensus' and 'Fuxian Consensus'. China decided to provide financial support for the AOT to further support the ceasefire monitoring work of ASEAN and better maintain regional prosperity and stability. It is expected that the AOT makes good use of China’s donation to consolidate the current hard-won ceasefire situation.

General Malek Razak Sulaiman appreciated China’s supporting for the AOT, and China’s great efforts in maintaining peace and stability, promising to make good use of China’s donation.
