On June 21, the award ceremony of Southeast Asia Division Contest of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (SEA-CICSIC) 2026 and the Malaysia-China Youth Innovation Competition was held at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. Also present, President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association (PPMC), Dato' Abdul Majid Abdul Khan and President of XMUM, Prof. Wang Ruifang, among other guests.

Ambassador Ouyang said, China and ASEAN countries share deep political mutual trust, close economic and trade cooperation, active people-to-people exchanges, and China stands ready to further deepen cooperation in education, science and technology, innovation, and other fields. He hopes that young students will bear in mind the bigger picture of the times, cultivate international friendships, pursue innovation with determination, carry forward the China-Malaysia friendship and China-ASEAN friendship, as well as bolster regional common development through youth-driven endeavours.

The competition, which drew participation from more than 6,000 students across 11 ASEAN countries with over 2,000 project entries, serves as a high-level international innovation exchange platform for Southeast Asian youth and injects youthful vigour into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
