On August 14, East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Malaysia hosted a ceremony for the Launch of Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT), Unveiling of Main Station Design Concepts, and Inauguration of System Integration Testing (SIT) and Fault-Free Run (FFR). Among those present were Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Anthony Loke Siew Fook; Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar; H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, and General Manager of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), Zhang Bingnan.

Zhang Bingnan said, the ECRL is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative jointly advanced by the leaders of China and Malaysia, as well as a vivid example of China-Malaysia shared destiny, shared development, and shared future. Currently, the project is 95% complete. CCCC will continue adhering to high standards, high quality, and high efficiency in advancing the construction progress, striving to create a landmark, high-quality project that benefits the people.

Anthony Loke extended thanks to the Chinese contracting partner, and commended the project's progress and China's advanced technology. He looks forward to the ECRL opening as early as possible, so that it becomes a catalyst for Malaysia's economic development and social mobility. He also said that the Malaysian government is committed to further extending the alignment to cover and benefit more areas.
