On May 31, the 5th China-Malaysia Youth 3x3 Friendship Cup Basketball Tournament has been held in Kuala Lumpur. Present were Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Zheng Xuefang; Vice-President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association (PPMC), Lim Juay Jin; Vice-President of Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA), Chey That Woon, as well as representatives of China Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) in Malaysia and Taylor’s Chinese Society. 24 basketball teams, formed by youth from China and Malaysia, participated in the tournament.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Zheng Xuefang wished the tournament a great success. He said that President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Malaysia last year has opened a new chapter in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, leading to continuous advancement in exchanges and cooperation across various fields over the past year. He expressed hope that youth from both countries will continue to carry out extensive exchanges in various forms, sowing the seeds for an enduring China-Malaysia friendship and a brighter shared future.
Lim Juay Jin thanked the Chinese Embassy for its strong support and said that the tournament has evolved from a sporting event to an important platform for Malaysia-China youth exchanges.
