On June 1 and 2, H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing has undertaken a working visit to Sarawak, during which he attended respective welcome ceremonies held by Bintulu Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) and United Chinese Association (UCA) Sibu Division with local Chinese community, and interacted with local Chinese community representatives and friends from various sectors.

Ambassador Ouyang shared on the latest progress and fruitful achievements of China-Malaysia relations under the strategic guidance of head-of-state diplomacy. Commending Sarawak’s Chinese community and associations for playing an active role to enrich local cultural diversity and advance economic and social development, he affirmed their important contributions in carrying forward the China-Malaysia traditional friendship, driving mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and promoting fine Chinese culture. He called on them to play a greater role in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.

Community representatives said that they will work together with all Chinese Malaysians to continuously play a bridging role between Malaysia and China to advance pragmatic cooperation, enhance people-to-people bond, and make greater contributions to usher in a new “golden 50 years” for bilateral ties.
