Spokesman Kong Quan's Remarks on the UK Comment on the NPC HK Basic Law Interpretation

Q: It is reported that the UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State Bill Rammell made some comments on the NPC Standing Committee legislative   interpretation. Do you have any response to that?

A: The legislative interpretation by the NPC Standing Committee is to execute the power prescribed by the Constitution and the Basic Law and to implement the Basic Law to the fullest and most accurate extent.

We are strongly dissatisfied with and opposed to the finger-pointing of this official from the UK foreign office and deems such an act an interference into the affairs of the Hong Kong SAR.
